![]() New comer here. Just bought a 65 fastback 289 4sp car. No owners manuel so I was wondering what the size of the fuel tank is? Also, what tranny would this car prob. have in it? Thanks guys.

![]() I believe the fuel tank is 16 gal. The 4 speed (really nice) should be either a ford 4 speed top loader, or the borg and warner t-10 trans. Both were used, both were good.

![]() As a side note, the 16 gal. tanks often start "sucking air" at about 14.5 gals or there abouts. The reason I know is that I've spent a fair amount of time calibrating my fuel guage which requires running it dry to see what the guage shows.
