![]() I recently went to get my front end aligned, but was told that the job couldn't be done cause my power ram was leaking. First question is: How hard would it be to do my own reconditioning of the ram? I mean, is it something really critical that has complex parts, or is it straight forward? If it's not a good idea to do the job myself, what is a good price to look for to have this work done? I'm trying to decide if it's better to re-condition the ram I have now, or just buy a new one. Thanks for any help!

![]() I am having a hard time understanding why a leak keeps you from getting an alignment because the cylinder has nothing to do with adjustments, me thinks the shop was hoping to make some money.
![]() But anyways resealing one of these cylinders is not difficult but it depends on your ability's and be careful after fixing this on the next thing this shop says is bad.

![]() Sorry, left off a few details. Shop said that some bushings were missing, some from inside the cylinder and others that keep the ram in place and secure from loose play. Basically there were internal and external bushings missing. Hope that clears it up.
