Default New to the boards...any other turbo stangs??

Hey guys, I just ran across your site, and thought I would jump on in.
I have a 69 convertible with a twin turbo intercooled 306, 5 spd and 9 in with 4:11's. It sits pretty on 17" 98 cobra wheels...it is white with a black top and black roll cage with a plethora of auto meter gauges to keep tabs on the mess under the hood, makes for quite an attention getter at all car gatherings though....anybody else live in the bay area of cali??

Wow sounds like you have an awesome car. I am pretty sure there aren't any old mustangs around here with turbos. there are a few late models with turbos though. There are a few people in the bay area also. You will have to check out the other fourms to find these people though. Post some pics of the car I am sure i am not the only one that would like to see some.

Not exactly in the bay area but near that area. I'm in Stockton. I to have been throwing around the idea of putting in a twin turbo in my 67' fastback. I'd be very interested on checking some photos out and possibly checking the car out. Just gotta finish what I'm doing right now. EFI/T-5/4 wheel power disc/power windows trunk doors/polish aluminum pieces.
BTW- Do you have a blow off valve on those suckers?

Hey Welcome,

I was looking for a turbo kit for my 69. Can you tell me where you went to get it or did you have to put it together yourself?

Yeah, me too. I'm thinking of buying a 66-69 FB, and a Twin Turbo 5.0 sounds like a killer setup... Details please!

I started with stock exhaust log type manifolds and fliped them upside down, I then took the two stock turbos from an SVO and fabbed some pipe from the manifold to the turbo inlet welded it myself, then started constructing down pipes and intake plumbing from U-bends from summit racing, I am also running a volvo intercooler, TurboXS BOV, MSD 6AL box and boost retard, I am using a Carter strip fuel pump which I modified to be boost referenced.....just took a **** load of time and a large vocab of four leter words

Along these same lines I am going to build a 66 FB. 351W, Fuel injected, twin turbo, with a top loader four speed. I am looking for 800 RWHP. Car won't be done for like 6 or 7 years, well worth the wait though.

Wow! I polished my WHOLE engine. upper/lower intake, water pump, timing chain, egr spacer, radiator, and valve covers; ported and gasket matched heads, and upper/lower intake; fabbed a hydraulic clutch, wired up the fastback, installed all of the new valve train back in put on 150 miles on it within 2 weeks. Not forget I'm 19 and attending college. Thus completing my efi/t-5 conversion and this guy barely answered. he he hee. Oh yeah and the 67' coupe is also up and running. It has a very nice lopey erson cam and the right things to go with it.

Hopefully I'll have some pics very soon of the fastback project.

I did all this in my garage, full time job, full time student, also had afull time girlfriend, I am now 22 years old. the twin turbos only took me about two months to get running, and another month to get tuned properly, I have a 90 block with all sorts of goodies inside along with DART race heads, 2.06 valves, edelbrock victor intake, X303 cam, holley 650 boost modified carb, T-5 conversion, 9 in rear end with 4:11s, pretty quick car, to say the least, roughly 500 at the wheels, but no trip to the dyno yet....

t-5 holding up to 500 hp at the wheels. With an abuse of breaking traction in 4th. Hmm I dunno.

A victor intake. So how'd you construct the pressure box for the carb?

T-5 has held up fine so far, no problems ( knocking on wood), I didn't build a pressure box, I have a blow thru carb with a bonnet, and I just modified the carb to handle boost internally and plugged most vacuum holes, so that there are no leaks. Most people don't believe me when I tell them, and I would think the same, until you looked under my hood, then the looks of bewilderment start http://www.sromagazine.com/boards/sh...threadid=36031

Take care,

I don't have a digi cam, I had borrowed one from my friend to take those pics like three months ago, I have been trying to get some recent pics though, looks crazy with all the random piping under the hood.....
