![]() Alrighty, just getting a general consensus of my future plans for my 65 mustang coupe. I just finished up the engine, a 79 block 302. Everything was gone through. With that engine, i plan on adventually backing it up with a T-5 tranny, with a posi-rear with maybe 3.8something to 4.11gears. I figure, with the 5 spd i could run higher gears and still be ok on the highway. I hope to reupholster the seats myself, probably putting tweed (grey) in the middle, surrounded by something like the stock black vinyl/leather stuff. I would like to not have all those strips of stuff, like the stock seats, is it pretty easy to just copy the stock size and stuff, or am i better off just leaving it?? If all goes well, i am going to "shave" off the outside mirrors and radio antenna, and two tone it, dark grey on top with a silver on bottom, seperated by a red stripe. Im not sure if i am going to leave the front bumper off or not. I am going to take the horse and corral out though. Most of this will be happening next summer, depending on my stepdads project too though. (66 impala ss convertible) I also want to get the windows tinted nice and dark, and throw on some dark grey/black wheels. what do you all think??

![]() Sounds awesome! The only part you may have problems with is window tint. I tried to tint the windows on a 65 I used to have. The problem is these windows are 40 years old, and they have picked up scratches and scrapes and imperfections that really stand out more when you back them up with window tint. I didn't like it and scraped it off.
Seat covers are available from Mustang Parts stores everywhere. I would order the seat covers so you have the new vinyl, and replace the inserts with your tweed. It would be easier than trying to make your whole seatcovers.

![]() Keep in mind that you may have laws in your state against removing the bumper and mirrors....just a thought.

![]() haha, i live in northern minnesota, they dont care what you do up here. Yeah, that could be a problem with the window tint. I once tried to tint my brothers car windows, (they were out of the car) but we couldnt do it, kept getting ripples. If i did get it I would have to have someone else do it for me.
