Default grant steering wheel

Hi All

I'm installing a grant steering wheel for a 68 mustang. I know it says to cut the ground spring but when I test the horn it dos'nt seem to work. If I leave the ground spring on the horn works great.Problem!! The turn signals don't work. When I check the voltage I have my 12V. But when i apply the turn signal (left or right) i loose my 12V.All other parts of dash work. It appears as if the ground spring is grounding out the circuit. Has anyone installed one of these with some helpful hints would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Regards

Steve
