![]() i think what you should do is take it back to them and tell them the problem, if they dont believe you tell them to drive it - they should fix it for free if they messed up ...which sounds like they did

![]() problem is the alignment shop is 100 miles away. i cant seem to find any spot on the tire or fender where it is rubbing. could it be something else making the sound when i turn?

![]() I've had 2 situations like this...
1. the tire was rubbing fender... it dented it a bit from the inside... I did some tweaking to the alignment of the fender to fix it... 2. the wheel (mag) was rubbing against the upper control arm as I turned hard. This left some metal shavings and a mark where it was hitting. I hit the area with a die grinder until it was quiet, then I did it a little more to prove a point to the control arm... |

![]() well ive run into this before myself (in dallas) until i moved back to my hometown and knew the guy at our alignment shop and had him put my 71 on his snapon comp, alignment mach.and i had found the factory specs for my camber and caster settings ride height ect.(which i tweaked a lil) most of the time the guys these days if you take your car into a shop they dont have these settings, so they do it and ill quote (i got it close as i could)
![]() Caster= 1.2 deg / 1.3 deg. (specified -1.0 deg. to 1.0 deg) Camber= .2 deg / .3 deg. (specified -.3 deg to 1.3 deg) Toe= .04 deg / .04 deg. (specified .13 deg to .38 deg) |

![]() Perhaps a stupid question but would those settings work on a '67? I put Scott Drake wheels and new tires on my coupe and had the treatment you described when I took the car to the local Kwik Kar place for an alignment. "We got it as close as we could but it's not quite right". Thanks. E.

![]() i think i know what mite have happend, i think they alligned it like a 67-69 and used the strutrod to set the caster insted of shimming the upper control arm. i replaced the upperball joint thinking that that mite be why, when i did i didnt see any shimms in the uper control arm. let me know what you guys think..
thanks for the help. matt
