Post Rust Spots on 66?

All you guys out there more with more experience let me know the bad spots on my 66 to check out for rust. Ive checked the spots in the doors and right behind the rear wheels, any more i need to be worried about???

1966 Baby blue Coupe, 289 w/ man. 3-speed, nothing special but the fact that it is my first mustang. I am a former import guru....no more.

I've never run it except on the street, it has new wheels & tires, new exaust, and that about covers it. Looking to change a lot in the future including engine. Any ideas are appreciated.

Floor pans in early Mustangs are notorios for rust due to leaking cowl vents. Get under the car with a small screwdriver and poke around the floor pans. If you're lucky, there won't be any, but often there is. Also run some water down into the cowl vent and then check your carpet for wetness. They do make repair kits for leaky cowl vents. They also make floor pan replacements. I've never done it' but I'll bet it's a pain.

Also take a good look at the trunk pan and the left and right rear frame rails as these tend to rot out. I did a full pan job and rear frame rails on a friends 66 coupe and while not the worse job I've ever done, it is very time consuming and for me it was definitely one time only experience. I would only buy a rust free car (which is what I did when I bought my car) or one that has already had this work done.
