Question 78 Mustang v8

I just got a 78 mustang II and I know it is a factory V8 car with a manual transmission because the engine is in there, it has V8 emblems and it has a hole in the floor and clutch pedals in it. But nothing is hooked up it looks as if someone was going to put the engine and trans(which is an automatic)in and gave up on it.What I am wondering is how you can tell if it is a cobra or Mach I model. Anything would be helpful. thanks.

Talking

Push your vin # through the data plate decoder.

Also take a look at the link posted by Stefan in the restoring a 78' mustang II post.
