Post 66 mustang six cylinder oil leak?

ok now I had just changed the seals in the tranny and everything was fine. I then changed out the water and oil with a new filter everything ok for a day. Then when i drove it it smoked (white) when i push down on accelerator seems to go away when at a constant speed. When i stopped i noticed a drip coming from between the tranny and the engine. now when i had the tranny off i did not see a leak of oil. I know it is oil from engine not from tranny, i had checked the drops and it was definately engine oil. Now my theory of the smoke is the oil dripping onto the exaust pipe. Waht needs to be done to at least get the oil to stop its dripping any advice will help... you can email me at sapere_aude777@hotmail.com if you have any suggestions
Thanks

Could it be coming from your valve cover?

Some thoughts:
1. Check the oilpressure sending unit. Had one go bad and it started leaking.
2. What about oil out of dip stick tube, or valve cover breather? Think it would be easy to see there but maybe not.
3. Can you see if it is running down the side of the block or out at bottom. Could you have just lost the rear main seal?
4. Check dipstick, are you loosing oil? Is the filter on tight? Made this mistake once.
5. You didn't take off the head did you? Are there any bolts in the system recently replaced that were not used with thread sealer?
Hope you find it. Don't know if this will be any help at all. Good luck.
