Question Help!! 68 mustang

heres the deal, I have a 68 with a stock 289 under the hood. For the last couple of days it was acting like it's not getting enough fuel so i replaced the fuel pump on it. Today it ran a little bit better but still kept stalling out and not wanting to restart. I drove it another 6 blocks and it shot the # 7 Spark plug out of the hole, but not all of it. I t only shot the ceramic end out. The piece with the threads was still in the block. Does any one know what can cause this and if so how do I fix it?
