Question Swapping a 3-spd for an AOD in a '67 Mustang

I have a '67 Mustang, which is running the original 3-speed manual transmission. It's mated to a '71 302-2V engine, and the poor old thing is just about shot. I have a new AOD in the crate, sitting in the garage, that I picked up cheap. I was wondering if anyone out there had every done this kind of swap.
Most of the literature out there shows how to swap an AOD for a C-4 or C-6, but nothing about swapping from a manual tranny.
Anybody with information - parts needed, tech help, etc. - can e-mail me at bobvitas@mindspring.com to provide information.

I really appreciate any help!

Bob
