Default eliminating power steering?

hey.

I am having troubles with my power steering
it is leaking or something

but whenever I make a turn it's making noises.

so I'm thinking I should just get rid of the power steering.

how would I do this? get a smaller belt right?

Has anyone done this before?
how does it feel driving around without power steering?

also, it's an 91 5.0 lx AOD
would 4.10s go good for this car?

thanks
