Angry mirrors on a '78 mustang II

i recently took the mirrors off my '78 for a paint job. the mirrors have the cable controls to move the mirrors without rolling the window down. after i re installed the mirrors the cables will not move the mirrors, and the mirrors will not stay put when they are set correctly. can anyone help?

Sounds like eiter the cables have broken at the mirror, or your cables were pinched somewhere in the re-installation. Check for this first, and if you have no obstructions in the cables, I may have a set of mirrors, e-mail me if interested.
