![]() I need to store my 69 Mach I for about 3 years. I've got a few tips already: r/r spark plugs with tblsp oil, drain and replace antifreeze, drain gas tank and line (I have heard to fill it up-but 3 years?), remove battery, fresh oil change, armourall inside, wax outside, leave windows cracked about 2 inches, good car cover. Place on jackstands. The car will be in a garage. Any other advice?
Thanks [This message has been edited by Rick Martin (edited 02-27-2000).] |

![]() well, drain the carb too... another thing I've heard it's good to back off the rocker arms... because you'll be leaving some of the valve springs compressed....

![]() Put something inside to absorb moisture. You can bet an absorbant from home improvement stores. Generally used in basements. You might also consider moth balls to keep bugs and varments out.

![]() ALL above excellent advice. Make sure your car cover is a breathable fabric - NOT plastic etc!! Sounds like most everything else covered. Be sure to grease everything well, and you MIGHT want to add some additive to trans (if auto) and pow steer (if so equip) to keep seals soft. Maybe even good to swap trans fluid or oil and diff oil. OH! Replace all brake fluid! Old fluid has moisture in it which can corrode/rust internals of all brake cyl/valves, etc! Maybe repack front wheels too for same reason. Small item - drain windshield washer reservoir/pump.

![]() Another little bit of advice - plug up every openening on the car where rats/mice could get in (doors, windows, exhaust, etc.) - I have seen this happen, any little opening will invite some little critter to come in and chew up your interior or build a nest.
