Question Side Scoops on 1967 convertible???

My 67 convert. has scoops on either side of it. They are non-functioning, serving only a cosmetic purpose. I was wondering if these were an option in 1967 or just someone's own touch/preference. Also, I was wondering what products are best to clean and protect the convert. top.
thanks,
James Novak

there were only an option on the shelby models and the 68 california special. other than that it is just for looks. i bought a set to put on my 67 but i don't like the way they mount on the quarter so i'm not going to use them.
