Question Size of Emblem Holes?

Can anyone tell me what size the holes are supposed to be for my 68 coupe's fender emblems and scripts? Right now, they're all the identical same size but some had to be re-drilled due to being filled with body filler. The little snap-in nuts for the pony emblems appear too big for the holes while the different type nuts for the "MUSTANG" scripts appear to be too small. The pegs on both emblems appear to be the identical same size. Need to ensure the holes are definitely correct before I paint the car. Thanks.

Kisner The holes for the script are 7/64 " as for the pony start with the same an do a test fit (b-4 you paint) if not than go up to the 1/8 " bit. But remember they are supposed to be a "very snug" fit so be careful and use slow even pressure . We dont wanna scratch that new paint Always insert the the snap nuts into the holes first (I pushed them in with a pencil eraser ), then put a drop of lube on the pegs and in they go. Hope this helps

Thanks for the info, but apparently the reproduction emblems come with a larger peg than the originals (which I don't have to compare). The reproductions came with 1/8" barrel nuts and through trial and error I had to drill the holes 3/16" for the nuts to go into. Probably should have installed after the paint job but went ahead and installed now since they were very difficult to get in and didn't want to damage new paint. Had to use a regular hammer and they're real tight (rubber hammer, pencil eraser, etc, would not work). I have one that's loose because that hole had body filler in it. It's staying in for now but hope it doesn't pop out when it's time to put emblem on. If it doesn't, I fear I'll have to remove fender and put on a regular self-threading type nut to hold it.
