Post Starter Solenoid problems?

Hey guys, got a problem with my Cousin's '67 289 Mustang. This week we
installed a 4bbl intake and carb (was 2bbl), an MSD mechanical advance
dist., MSD 6A Box, and MSD Blaster 2 coil. As per the instructions with the
6a Box, I hooked the orange and black wires to the coil, while disconnecting
the original positive wire going to the coil (red with silver stripe). The
thin red wire goes to the alternator's Key on power source and of course I
have the big black ground wire and red wire going to the appropiate places.
BTW the 6a box and dist. are also hooked up. Here's the problem, we got the
car to start...no problem, but when we want to start it again, the starter
now has problems cranking the motor over and the solenoid jumped a spark
from the positive side terminal (big one) and got pretty hot. It seems to
me, that there is some kinda short and/or a high resistance level in the
starting circuit. BTW, this car worked flawlessly before. So, I am
thinking it's the starter solenoid..what do you guys think? Oh yeah, when
seen through a test light the battery and alternator shine bright, but the
start solenoid is very dim. Could it also be the starter drawing too many
amps? Note: I did originally have the MSD's thin red wire hooked up to the
starter solenoid's "I"gnition push in terminal. Thanks in advance.

Wink

Check your positive battery cable, I had the same problem(big old spark), and I cleaned out the clamp, and all of the stuff on the starter solenoid, and it never did it again.
