Default Steering

Hi everyone,
I have a '70 Mach 1 that used to have non-integral power steering. I didn't want all that crap in there, so I am switching to manual steering. My question is if anyone knows if there is supposed to be a link between the pittman arm and the drag link. I have new connecting rod end pieces, manual drag link, manual idler arm/bracket, and manual pittman arm and grear box. But the pittman arm is not fitting correctly in the drag link - I have to pull the drag link up quite a ways. Also, when I do this, the driver's side con rod end won't reach, even with the sleave all the way extended. Any help will be appreciated, and let me know if you need more info.

Thanks,
Josh
