Post Is there such thing as a Factory Pin Stripe?

I'm restoring my 64 1/2. The question that is coming up with the paint shop is the pin stripe. There was a red decal stripe(wimbelton white paint) which was not original. But underneath it was a painted, single red stripe (which matches the interior). The discussion is whether or not the painted pin stripe was factory or not. Some say that when the vehicle was shipped to the dealer, the dealer often added these stripes. I'm the second owner, and the original owner was an old lady and I doubt she had the stripe added after she bought it. I like the pin stripe because it accents the interior. But I'm getting resistance from everyone because they believe its after market and therefore not original. Does anyone have any thoughts about the trim kits of that time? Thanks, Jeff
