Default T5 Swap Vintage

I am attempting to put a 1989 T5 transmission and bell housing into a 1965 convertible with a 1967 302 3 speed transmission. I found a set of instructions at www.webtripper.com, has anyone used these instructions? do they work, tips, tricks, problems, etc.? Has anyone done this swap successfully? Any help would be appreciated.

I've had a T-5 and currently have a Tremec in my 66. The swap is very straight forward and simple if you have the right parts :-)

I recommend that you call California Pony Cars for the necessary parts. I also have some details about the swap on my page:

There are a few things you have to be careful with. Depending on when your 65 was made you have either a 5 bolt or a 6 bolt bell housing. If it is a 5 (that were on the earlier ones - left over from the 64.5 which all had 5 bolt) then you can't use a late model bell housing. You will need to get an adapter plate for the tranny to hook up to your old housing instead. I did my tranny swap into a 68 based on 2BAV8's web page! Check that out. It will be a lot of help, as will the people at CPC. If you have a 5 bolt housing your parts to adapt this thing are going to be far more that if it is a 6 bolt. You can talk to me along with 2BAV8 any time you have a question:
