You will save, as far as gas goes, but the difference wont be anything mind-bending. Probibly 2-3mpg maybe more if you do a lot of highway driving. (But it adds up, and I tend to be conservative) The biggest single gain will be wear and tear on the engine. My 66, with 3.25's and a c-4 runs at near 2.5k on the highway, as opposed to the 93, which at the same speed is ticking along at like 1700 in 5th. Another option you can consider is swapping in an AOD, you'll be able to cruise in overdrive, and it'll be the same car on the surface streets. Best of both worlds, and you dont have to screw with the conversion to stick. (Sorry, I forgot to mention this option in your other thread )
