times with 65-68 coupe?
Hey,
I am looking at getting a 65-68 coupe to use as a street/strip car with a 302 or 351 and i was wondering if anyone knows what kinda HP and times i would be looking at with this combination of stuff. the mods are: 351w: Edelbrock Performer 750 cfm Carb Edelbrock Performer Intake Edelbrock Performer heads 2.02/1.60 Edelbrock performer cam 204*/214*(@.050) .448"/.472" Hooker Competition headers w/ 2 1/2" glasspacks Ignitor II kit w/ Flame-Thrower II Coil 302: Edelbrock Performer 600 cfm Carb Edelbrock Performer Intake PAW Remanafactured 289-302 Early Casting heads 1.94/1.60 with 3 angle valve Job 58cc Chambers Crane Energizer cam 278*/278* .498"/.498" Full Roller Valvetrain w/ 1.6 rockers intake, 1.7 rocker exhaust Hooker Competition headers w/ 2 1/2" Glasspacks Ignitor II kit w/ Falme-Thrower II coil The 351w has 10.7:1 compression while the 302 has 10.5:1 compression, both through a c-4 trans with 2500 rpm Stall and 4.11's out back with traction bars. What kinda times do you think a car like this would run? How Streetable? Thank you for any information you can provide Steven |
well, 1st off, take the cam from the 302 and put it in the 351... that cam is way small on a 351.. the stock 302 roller cam with 1.7 rockers will have more lift... look for something with around .540 lift and 220-230 duration at .050 lift. With the better heads, you dont really need to spilt the duration as much as with stock heads...
the glasspacks will cost you HP too... |
