Best Tire Size 17" Rims
I am about to convert my 88 LX convt. to 5 lug w/ the bullit Torque thrust d type rims. These are 17 in. rims, but i am not sure of the backspacing. I was wondering if anyone knows what size tire I should run with. I know that i will need something with a low profile, but I am not sure how wide of a tire i can use without excessive tire rub. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Factory tires size on the 17 X 8" rims is 245/45R17's. I would stick to that if you are going to have 8" rims. If you are going with 9" rims 275's are nice, but I don't know what kind of problems you'll have with clearance issues.

I run 245/40/17 on the front and 275/40/17 on rear. You will have to remove your quad shocks.
