Cool Rick 91GT - I got my RNH torque boxes! Sweeeet!!

Hey dude. I just thought I'd use a post in here to tell you I got the torque boxes. These things looke VERY professional. The whole kit resembles something you'd pay dearly for at Summit Thanks!

I do have a question though...
Should I wait until I get my new control arms to install these since I have to pull the rear end anyway? I have decided on UPR Pro Series adjustable uppers and lowers I think. That depends on if they will work with the 9" rear end I am going to get this winter. I assume they will since it's made as a direct swap somewhat.

Thanks again.

P.S. if you guys don't have torque box reinforcements... order a set from Rick, these things are very nice!

Oh, here's a pic of these reinforcements if anyone is wondering what these things look like. I know I was curious since I had never seen them before.

I'm not sure myself, since Rick forgot to send me instructions, hint hint

Send me some pics of them installed in your car if you get a chance Rick so I can see how these things fit together.

How much were they? And who is RNH? They look identical to the Wild Rides torque box which sell for $129.00 I was going to buy those along with the Wolf Racecraft repair kit which is $25.00, it is only the bottom reinforcement. My torque boxes are munched from Southside lowers.

Thanks for all the gratious comments.

Kev- check your mail I sent you a real quick meesage on how they go in. Yes I would wait till you do the arms since they need to come down to install them. I also fully welded the seams up on the boxes then installed the kit, it really stiffens everything up and I haven't had any issues with mine since the install. My SSM lowers really abuse the boxes, I tore them a couple times before I re-enforced them.

The ones pictured above are just the lower kit, what I do for the uppers is fully weld in the stock brackets, since they just have a couple spot welds from the factory. Mine are different then the "other kits" as the ones I make have extra support due to the design, and mine are made from Stainless Steel so they will never rust, like mild steel will.

I am asking $100 for a set, they inluded all you see above, plates and hardware and the instructions which will be completed shorty ..Kev just likes to bust my balls a little If anyone is interested e-mail me at Rick91GT@onemain.com.

I just got some upper and lower battle boxes from wild rides, I can't wait to get them installed. I have had them for two weeks now but just not had the time to install them.

They look the same as what you have, who did you get yours from and what do they go for (RNH)?

RNH PERFORMANCE is ME "Rick91GT" my design is different then the Wild Rides pieces, I have a extra plate that actully attaches to the frame in another spot and ties it all together from both sides and the top making it stronger. Mine are also made from Stainless Steel so they will never rust, unlike some of the others who make them from mild steel. Each set is $100. I have had a set on my car for over ayear now and everything is still great no issues at all even after lots of 5500rpm+ launches.

James when you install them also weld the stock upper brackets in they are just spot welded from the factory, this will add a lot of strength. I also suggest welding up then seams in the lower box also. If you have SSM bars you may need to tap the seams back together, they are famous for ripping out.

I noticed one really nice feature about Rick's vs. Wild Rides (other than the fact that Ricks are stainless). Rick welds the full seem where each piece mates up. I may be wrong, but it looks like the battle boxes are just spot welded at the corners.

Yes your right Kev, the main piece is also bent on a tight radius instead of being two seperate pieces, assuring it stays square.

Lx xl8tr- check your mail, I sent you all the info!

Thanks,
Rick

Well I wish I had known about yours before I bought mine from wild rides, I would have bought from you instead. I did however get a good deal on them as my boss is a dealer for them and I got them for dealer cost.

Thanks for the info.

what else do you sell? Do you sell an k-member or a manual steering rack and pinion?

I will be looking for them real soon.
