Well it goes something like this....
Once upon a time, there were three Mustangs. The 65 coupe, the 67 fastback, and the wee little 66 convertible.
While they were up on the rack for alignment, Goldilocks the alignment technician noticed that the 66 convertable had torque boxes, the 65 coupe had none, and the 67 fastback only had one!
"How strange!" she exclaimed.
And it was strange indeed. The scoop is that basically 65-66 cars didn't get any torque boxes....except convertibles and Shelbys.
In 67 they only put one on the driver's side, only again convertibles got them on both sides.
I believe that in 68 they started putting torque boxes on both sides on all Stangs.
If I'm wrong on this, would someone please correct me, because I've thought it was this way for many years now. Doc.
