Question tranny codes.

I was wondering where to look on my 66 mustang for the codes on the c4. i was trying to find out if it was the orignal c4 that came with the car. i have a feeling that the previous owner messed with the trans and either had a new rebuilt racing trans put in it or had something done to the orignal one but if i run the codes and find its a different year then i can almost be sure the trans is tricked out. thanks for you help guys.

Early model C-4's have the filler tube in the pan, not the case.

Should be some numbers near the linkage on the case. I will look at one I have at my shop is you need.

Default In the pan?

I think the early ones have the filler tube in the case. At least that's where it is my '66.
