Default Tremec tko install

im putting a tko in my 68 and was wondering would if the tkos shifter would fit in place of the automatics shifter or does a hole need to be cut. and also, does the tko use the same crossmember as the t5

The shifter hole should be very close, you might have to grind it out slightly. The crossmember is specific to tremecs, a T5 c/m will not work.

Most likely you're gonna have to clearance some area at the 5th and Reverse gear side. I've got a tremec t-5 in my '68 coupe and this was the case with me. I also had to bang the trans. tunnel in a couple of places (slight rubbing) to get rid of vibrations. I also lengthed the stock T-5 shifter as it was a little too short (I had to lean forward in the seat to shift).
