Default twisted shock tower?

I just got a 68 Mustang for restoration. The body for the car is nearly mint hardly any rust and if there is any it can be fixed. But I have a problem. My left driverside whell is on the worst slant possable. I popped open the good to notice the shock tower is dented in. Ive looked around and saw the sell replacement shock tower skins and braces. I think the guy before me hit a curb hardcore and twisted it. There is no rust or anything just dented kinda twisted in. How hard is this to do?

Big job to replace shock towers.

Are you sure it can't be jacked out with a porta power or pulled with a frame machine??

I would check with a body shop that does work on older cars.

Good luck with the 68.

well heres the thing its like dented inward. I think the person before me hit a curb hardcore and thats how it got like that. The kit is like 100 something dollars which isnt bad but the welding scares me. I was gonna do it myself but I think Ill just leave to a professional I know someone who is a welder so maybe it wont be too bad. I just got a 302 HO for it to so i wanna get the shock tower done soon

It's some hard work, if you have the room you could do it yourself. We were thinking of changing the inner fenderwalls on my '69 and we would have to take the engine out and remove a bunch of **** so we're just getting it done. I think it's something like $1000-$1500 Canadian to have it done. That may be cheaper though cause it's only one shock tower, I would say it's worth fixxing before things get worse. Congrats on the '68, is it a fastback, coupe of conv.? Any pics?

§am.

The hardest thing about replacing the shock towers/engine compartment panels is making sure you have all the panels at he right height, angle, etc. I tore out the radiator support and the front apron on both sides and replaced them. Doing the shock towers would have been very simple at that point. It will be much more difficult for you, since you won't have the aprons out. Hope your friend does a good job! Good luck!

Here's a pic of my '69 when the front end was all torn apart.
