![]() Hey,
A friend of mine thought that his "Done Up" SUV (Ford Escape with Catback and Intake runs 15.8 at the track) would have a chance against my 1973 Mach1 351 4V. So we took er to a road we know of, not to long and raced up to 70 MPH. Results are in the video. http://www3.telus.net/public/supeg93/Beatdown.avi Anyways, from the look of the video and taking in consideration that he runs 15.8-15.9's at the track all day (4X4) what does it look like I can expect in the 1/4 mile? Any guesses? Another friend of mine with a done up Prelude wants a piece as well..... So just wondering how much I can expect to beat him by. I also have another funny video of us going at it from a roll (He thought he would have a better chance cause I got 4.11) Specs 351 Cleavland 750 Holly Double Pumper Carb Comp Camp 4.11 Posi Rear Bored .30 over Edelbrock Headers Full custom Cat back (Shitty muffler and 1 1/2 inch pipes! I know I know I need bigger!) MSD Ignition Edelbrock Intake |

![]() I rarely make it to the track, but I thought I heard the guys on this board say that a good rule of thumb was for every car length ahead your car is during a race.....that was a tenth of a sec your car was faster.
Anyone else help me out with that? Ryan

![]() If 60 mph = 88 ft/sec, Then a car crossing the finish line at 100 mph = 147 ft/sec. That's 14.7 ft for every .1 sec. So if a car length is about 14.7 or 15 ft, then one car length means about a 1/10 of a second at 100 mph.,
Make sense? Rev
