VIN Locations

Hi all,

I am new/old to this forum. I used to frequent this message board some yrs ago but lost my registration so I have a new registration. Anyhow, I have a slight problem and looking for some help.

I have a 67 Mustang coupe all tore apart. It's literally a rolling shell. I tried to get the title transferred into my name, but the local DMV could not locate 2 VIN to verify the title. The one obvious VIN is on the upper left fender apron. Anyone know of place to look? We checked the dash & inside firewall without any luck. :(

Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank You.

Blacky

On my '69 the VIN is stamped into the top of the fender aprons on both sides. To see these you have to take the fenders off the car though. The other one on my car is on a little metal tag in the driver's side corner at the bottom of the windshield that sticks out above the dash and you can read it through the windshield. I'm not sure of the differences between '67 and '69 though.

YOU ROCK!!!!!!! It was in the same spot on the other fender apron, I did have to move the fender to see it.

Thank you very much 6T9PONY

Hell 6T9Pony ya're my Hero too! Ya drive one sweet car. :D lol Yeh, I believe it's stamped on the rearend, transmission, and on the block somewhere. I know they stamped the car a whole bunch of times I'm not sure where exactly else.

Thanx guys. I appreciate it.

But no, they don't have a VIN on the rear, tranny, and engine. They just have the part numbers stamped on to those, along with about every other part on the car.:p

C9XX XXXX....there's usually a number similar to that stamped on to about every part on a '69 Mustang....For a '67 it would be C7XX XXXX or whatever.....in '70 it's D0...... The letter represents the decade and the number represents which year. My engine is D1 ('71) and my tranny is a C6 ('66, not a C-6 tranny, it's a C-4;) :p)
