vinyl tops
I have a 66 coup, vintage burgandy that used
to have a black vinyl roof, I have restored the car and would like to install a white roof, the interior is all black. Does anyone know if they ever built any cars with that color combination??? thanks... |
I don't know if they ever had this color combination available from the factory, but in my opinion, which is just that, my opinion, I think that you should either go with a black vinyl roof with the black interior and burgandy paint, or if you have the money go with white vinyl and white interior. A complete interior restoration will cost around $2000-2500 at the right shop. And by what you said it sounds like your interior is restored, so it wouldn't be an option to have it redone...again. I say go with the black. I think white would look kind of funny with the black interior. Just my opinion.

my opinion is that the white top would look fine and it would help reflect heat in the summer. Go white!

According to the literature I have in 66 the black and white vinyl roof option was available for all exterior colors. As I read that it says your combo could have been an option. This comes from the "illustrated facts book" by Mustang Monthly.
