Default Voltage Regulator

On the main alternator voltage regultor there are four connections that are labeld [I - A - S - F]

What does each letter stand for? I have put a 289 into an 80' Rx7 and am using a voltage reg. from my 66' Stang so I'm hooking it all up from scratch and since my Stang is down to frame right now I don't have anything to look at to figure out where the wires go.

I'm guessing the (I) would go to the dash light but what about the field, stator and armature lines? Where would they hook up?

The "A" goes to the Batt post on Alternator and the Battery post on the Starter Relay
The "S" goes to the Stator terminal on the Alternator
The "F" goes to the Field terninal on the Alternator
The "I" goes to the Idiot light, or not used with ammeter.

Hope that helps.
