Default Water Pump

I'm doing some upgrades to the engine in my '67 coupe and thought that while I was in there I would replace the water pump. Currently I have one of the cast iron pumps. Should I replace with the same? Any advantage to the aluminum pump? Would it be more "aesthetically" pleasing? Any suggestions? Thanks, E.
