Post Weight of Cars.

Is a '65 coupe significantly lighter than an '89 mustang coupe? Also, anyone have a desktop dyno, or have a good idea of hp numbers

'89 5.0 E-303, full roller rockers, ported/polished stock '65 289 heads, stock intake/stock everything else (except headers/free flow exhaust)

It depends on a lot of stuff, but genreally, I would say yes. I have seen real world weights from 2920 (buddy's 65 coupe) to 330 66 coupe with roll cage, full tank of gas, mondo stero, etc.
both weights were small blocks and driver of tghe respective cars in the drivers seat
That being said, even 330 should be right close to the 89.
do you have an auto tranny?
power steering?
A/C?

all will make a difference

My '66 weighs 3020 without my lard a$$ in it and with 1/2 tank of gas. This is no A.C., P.B., or power anything, When I mash the gas, a smile comes to my face, maybe a sweaty one.

My '91 LX hatchback weighs 3100 lbs. w/o driver. This is without the spare tire and jack, but includes aluminum heads, supercharger, and 1/3 tank of gas. My LX is fully loaded (A/C, P/S, PW, PDL).

A buddy of mine has a '91 LX coupe without A/C and P/S. It weighs just under 3000lbs. without the spare tire and floor insulation. He also has the added weight of a supercharger.

When I get my '65 coupe running I'll weigh that and post the results.
