When replacing the cam???

When I do replace the cam, should I buy 289 cam or 302?

The guy the put the heads on was to lazy to report and rebuild the 289 heads, so he just got rebuilt 302 heads and put them on. So when I buy a cam, do I have to buy it as a 302 or 289? I already know that I will have to buy new push rods for the right lenth.

I'm not really sure what you mean. They are the same thing really unless you want a very specific cam (intake, carb, trans, gear combo) for your setup. In terms of 289 or 302 dimensions for cams though, unless the cam you are looking at is for a late model roller 302, you should be ok.

289/302 cams [non roller] should be the same and interchange.

Do you have a compatability problem??

No, just wanted to know if it had anything to do with head size. Since it's not 289 heads, I just wanted to make sure. It's just as I thought.
