So the car cranks but doesn't start?

One of the easiest checks that I like to do is to hook up a timing light to a spark plug wire and crank the engine... if it sends light signals, you know that you are getting a spark to the plugs...

tried that ..tried crossing over the purple and green wire to see if the coil wire tosses a spark ...tried grounding out the white wire as well from the msd box... nothing!

Sounds like the coil or the MSD box, if all the wiring is hooked up correctly.

You should definetly be able to get something with the key on... Sounds like you might have to get a light testor and see if you can trace the problem back.

I had a MSD billit distributor and 6AL box and a Ford Duraspark distributor & box.

Both made the same horsepower on the dyno.

The MSD never went back in.

The MSD pissed me off when I tried to time the motor. Erratic timing mark jumping all over the place. WTH? The MSD OWNED my timing light and made it freak out.

Seems like I always had some kind of damn problem with MSD crap. Im sure alot of people don't, but I did.
