Unhappy "Cant hit third gear to save my life"

I have taken my car to the track two times since ive had it and these are the only times that I have drove it. Cause it is not street legal yet. The first time I went to the track My first run was a 16.4 cause I lit up first and second gear by the end of the night I got it down to a 15.4. The reason for my soft ET's is I can not hit third gear I have to hold the clutch to the floor and force it in and it takes me twice as long to hit third than it does to hit second causing my rpm's to drop and causing me ET. My second time at the track I did much better I was nailing the lights .500RT being perfect I had one perfect light and about three or four RT's under a .530, but the best ET I was able to get was a 15.2622at 89.9 mph. My best 60ft is a 2.19 and that is with the sway bar still in. and me best 1/8th mile ET is 9.73. Right now I am saving up for a steeda triax shifter cause I heard that it preloads third gear for you. My next mods are going to be 3.73's and a steeda triax shifter after that I hope to be around a 14.40. Guess I will have to try again this week. . 3.08's suck

Lightbulb

For the time being until you get a new shifter, take your old shift handle out and get rid of the rubber bushings and then bolt it on with a couple of washers where the bushings were, this will improve the shifter feel and will help with that broomstick in a bucket of $hit feeling of the stock shifter.
