elevation
I was wondering if anyone had the elevation factors and how they worked im in calgary and a friend told me you just drop .95 off you et and add 1.3 to your mph ?
it s sounds a little to simple as i thought it might be linier . also does this effect nhra saftey rules etc if im running 11.73 would i need the full cage for 10.99 ? I realize if i moved to sea level i might run that fast but not up here. also is a constant Mph at the end of several runnis indicating not enough gear ? thanks i probabl will start bracket raccing soon but want to have the safety stuff in place. getting to expensive to pay for gas in the beast. ------------------ 89 with 395 single stage n2o .garret t3. 373's Suspention worked out finnaly . need cage . |

you only need the cage if you run 10.99 at your track... the MPH should be the same on every run... gears wont change the MPH you run... they will change the rpm yopu cross the finish line at.. look at what the finish line RPM is and get gears that have you maxed out in 4th gear.. ;-) ------------------ 84 convt,'95 302,AFR's, performer 3.55's, underdrives BBK shorties stock cam, 1.7's 13.85@102.5 and a '68 stang that WAS nasty ;-) |
What you need to do is get the car on a chassis dyno. That will tell you where you make the most hp and the most torque. Try to get your launch rpm as close to peak torque as you can, and your shift point should be 200 rpm after peak power. That will also give you the gear ratio that would be optimum for you. For example...if you cross the line 600 rpm under peak power, you might consider a gear change. There is no point in spinning the motor to the moon, if you are on the downside of the power curve.

Thanks guys that helped out alot more . its multipied not minused .
yeah i need to hit a dyno. I think i might just upgrade to the full cage right now for future mods. ------------------ 89 with 395 single stage n2o .garret t3. 373's Suspention worked out finnaly . need cage . |
