Question ET Streets and Draglites

I need to know if a 26-11.5 15 et street will fit under an 84 mustang on weld draglites with a 4.5 inch back space or a 5.5 inch back space and do i need to relocate the quad shocks. I do not want to roll the fender lip for clearance. Should i just use the 10.5 wide tire instead

Don't have the slightest clue on fender clearance, but I think you'll have to ditch the quad-shocks regardless of backspacing. I'm only running 26x8.5 E/T Drags on Weld 15x8 with 5.5 backspacing and they were might darn close to the quads before I removed the quads. Quads are worthless anyways, so I'd go ahead and pull 'em.

If you don't have aftermarket lower arms (eg. Mega Bite Jrs./Sr.) You may experience wheel hop if you remove the quad shocks.

Yep they will not fit, my 26x10.5 e.t.streets rubbed a little, now my sportsman pros rub alot, the fender seems to clear fine, i dunno bout 11.5's.

So jeff, you think ditching the quads is a good idea? i race my car alot at the track? will it feel unstable or anything?

If you've got some decent lower control arms with poly bushings, then I'd ditch 'em. If you've still got the stock arms with the mushy bushings you're probably better off keeping them on.

Thanx, my car squats real bad on the launch, i guess thats what stock suspension does, along with prolly worn springs, i'll hold on to them until i get some mac lower control arms with poly bushings.
