Talking It Passed Inspection!!!!

HEY! My 1966 Mustang passed inspection on Friday! It's LEGAL TO DRIVE!!!!!!

So here is my question.

While inspecting, the guy said he noticed when he started the engine the battery cable was smoking. He said my starter is drawing too much current, and needs replacement. does this sound like a possible problem for a car that's been sitting for a few years?

Coming soon, the final stages of the restoration - Body and Interior!

it could be the cable or the starter. does the motor fire fast or does it crank for a second or two before it starts. If the cable is in bad condition then i would definatly change that first and then see what happens. if it smokes again then replace the starter. at least this way you know for sure what it is. also make sure that the connections are clean and secure. a bad connection will spark and smoke a little when you try to start the car.
