GT40P/ HOT HEAD FOR TROPHY STOCK?

Could the GT40P head be the hot combo for T/S 2000? I,m about to replace my not legal E5TE ported and polished GT40 valved heads,to possibly compete in T/S.

Seems like it. The P heads flow basically equal to the old GT-40 heads. The old heads become harder to find every day, especially in unported form.

The P heads definitely make the power. They seem to be the latest rage and even I'm putting together a set to replace my old irons. The real benefit is in the smaller combustion chamber. You can basically push the compression ratio as high as you'd like it (within reason). Compression ratios of 10:1 are achievable with mild milling.

I have researched all of the TS winners and runners up for 1999 and I don't believe you'll find a significant difference between the GTP and the old GT40's. The real difference in winning and losing is how well your chassis and suspension work and how good fo a driver you are at the starting line. If Larry Felts can run 12.24 at 108 and set a record that tells you a lot about winning in TS. If you want me to share my research with you e-mail me at mortpro@aol.com and I'll give you more details.
