Default Bear rear axle + C Clip eliminator...@#$%#$

I broke 3 rear axles in the past 5 years and i have
decided to buy unbreakable (almost) axles.

I got the Strange/Bear set up which included the C-clip
eliminator and the axle itself. I started working on the
car last sturday at 8:00AM and i finished the work at 10:00PM

This kit suck! I was particularly desapointed for those reason:

-A 40 tons press was needed
-i had to cut and remove the extisting stock bearing
-i wasn t able to have the proper torque on nuts.
-Every thing fits well after using the hammer 1000 times.

I would like to know if someone ever had fun installing this
kit and if there is someone who did it in less than 8 hours?

They are supposed to be stronger than the stock ones, but how
much stronger? (28 splines)
(Physically the stock axle is similar to the strange axle)

If the Strange axle break a small piece of the axle will stay in
the differential, i ll have to remove the differential cover anyway
... so why eliminate the C-clip???

If someone desagree, please help me to get out of the dark side
of the force.

Why would you replace a 28 spline axle with another 28 spline axle? I went to a 31 spline and the difference is huge, the 31 spline is at least 20% thicker than the 28 spline. You have to replace the diff too, but it should be a one shot deal, unless you grenade the diff. As far as C clip eliminators, I've heard nothing but problems with them when you drive them on the street. You might as well have a spool if your going to run c-clip eliminators.
My understanding is the C-clip elims are required for cars doing 10.99 or better becuse they actually have enough power to shoot the axle out the side of the car if the c-clips fail. The axles are actually attached (loosely speaking) at the housing with the eliminators, they won't slide out if the diff grenades or the c-clip fails. This is my understanding of how it works anyway, don't shoot me if I messed up on some details.

I run Strange 33spl. axles and a spool w/ C-clip elim.'s and the Aerospace rear disc. setup currently... however, last year I had the Baer rear disc setup along with the Strange components and ran them on the street... when I did the Baer install, I had to take the plate the caliper attaches to, to a machine shop to have them milled down to half the thickness where the C-clip elim sat against it (took a gasket with me and they scribed around it and milled it out so the gasket sat down in the plate) ...I had to do this in order to get enough threads to stick out the axle flange in order to start a nut and tighten it down to spec.

I've run a spool on the street, and it's not that bad... just takes some finesse, that's all Try running that along with a pro-shifted tranny on the street... it's like learning how to drive all over again ...but it can be done!

I am currently running 31 spline moser axles and a spool and c-clip eliminators. I feel that c-clip eliminators are a good investment because i have seen 14 sec. cars spit axles out. I have had no problems with mine and i drive the car roughly 250 miles a week. maybe it was just the kit you bought that gave you so many problems. I was very pleased with the moser c-clip eliminators yes they take a large press to get them on but it is even worse when you try to take them off because the collar that gets pressed on is only made to go one way. So be prepared to have a torch and a big press handy if for any reason you have to take them off.

So what would be the strongest/most practical way to go for mostly street use? Convert to a 31 spline setup with c-clips?????
I'll be going over a rearend in the near future and want it to be solid (replacing posi/axles/cover), but I'd rather not go with the c-clip eliminator kit if it's going to be a hassle and only cause problems driving everyday.
