milled edlebrock heads

I have a set of elelbroc performer heads, They had 60cc chambers and 1.94/1.60 valves. They have been milled .020, the mill actually cut a fraction of the outside of the valve seat. Will this hurt anything? and what size are the chambers now? Should I do any clean up work on them (ports) or leave them alone. I hope this will make a drastic differance on my combo.

Did it really cut into the valve seat itself, or just into the transition region? If it truly cut into the valve seat, then I'd think you're headed for trouble. If it just cut into the transition region, then probably nothing to worry about. I can't believe that taking 0.020" off the heads actually got it that close to the valve seats. Have they been milled before? The only real way to determing combustion chamber size is to have it measured. As shop should be able to do this for you very cheaply.

I believe that .007 to .010 is close to making to camber about 1 cc smaller. I could be wrong, but that is what I've been told.

yall know that it is a metal seat pressed into the aulm. well the outside edge of the seat where it meets tha alum, got brushed. I am going to take a picture with the digital and e-mail you all tomorrow

That probably won't hurt at all since the valve doesn't contact the seat there. If it had actually cut into the seat where the valve touches and forms the seal, it would have been a different story.
