![]() I have to make a retraction. I posted in the forum that says something about beating a bullit. I said that I beat a 01'cobra but I had just returned from the track and had not looked at my timeslips yet. I thought that I edged him out at the line but it appears that he barely had me.
![]() 0.4871-----REACTION-----0.4965 2.1912----- 60 ft -----2.2783 9.7771----- 1/8mi -----9.7805 15.2279----- 1/4mi -----15.2622 90.14----- 1/4mph ----- 89.19 0.0437-- FINISH MARGIN --- 01'cobra 88GT vert The time slip shows me as the winner cause he red lit a little worse than I did. I could have beaten him if I would of had a good run I have yet to get it all together on one run my car is capable of running a 14.90 I think. Cause I have run a 2.1 60ft and that is with the sway bar still in! My best 1/8 mi is 9.7388. So this was not my best 60ft or 1/8th mile but it is my best ET so far. This cobra was one sweet car I dont know if his car can run better than that or not cause he only ran the one time and was pissed. I would post the video if I knew how to download 8mm tape to a pc. On one of my runs I was lined up with a 9 sec vette dragster he crossed the line at 136mph and lost his front tire he went sliding about 100 yards or so into the field I also have that on tape. I ran out in the field to check and see if the guy was alright I couldnt find his car cause of all of the dust he stirred up I heard this bangin sound and I follow the sound till I found the guy kicking the sh!t out of his car. was just glad to see he was ok needless to say the car was toast. I have just purchased some edelbrock drag springs. cant wait to get those on and I am looking for either a steeda triax shifter or a pro 5.0 shifter. I am having trouble hitting 3rd gear is this common. SORRY FOR THE LENGTH. ![]() ------------------ 88 mustang gt convertible bored to 306 BBk equal length headers mac cold air fender kit cowl hood nitto drag radials ford racing clutch flow masters h-pipe 160* thermostat 16 degrees of timing electric fan off 94' t-bird jacobs electronics cap and wires |

![]() I thought so to this was one sweet car had huge chrome 5 stars and looked like it was lowered. I was drooling over this car. I thought it was a GT till I saw the cobra emblem. I was thinking damn im gonna get dusted I was shocked that I was side by side with him the whole way. This guy was scared he would tear his car up or something he didnt even do a burnout and didnt spin in first. Might have been an auto and I dont doubt his car is faster than a 15.2 but anyways after getting spanked a few races in a roll he made my day.

![]() He should have his license revoked.
The '01 Cobra should run mid 13's at near 105mph. That's the most horrible run I've ever heard of from a DOHC Cobra period. If you were running 15's he should have absolutely annihilated you. |

![]() I ran against a new cobra my FIRST TIME at the strip in my 90LX AOD convert. and beat him with a 15.4! I pulled up next to him, and was just like "sh1t, this guy is gonna KILL me" but he just sat there and spun, got him by about a second. Went again, and i got a 15.3, and he was a 15.4! Thats why I always lament at people who spin, and then don't know whats wrong, DON'T MASH THE THROTTLE, it makes you look dumb.

![]() You should work on your reaction times. Get some drag radials or some slicks and that will help with your launch. 15.4 beat a new cobra? I don't know about that. Well have fun racing.

![]() 15.22@90mph with an 01 cobra?! V6 cars ET and trap that! You called BS when I've said I've seen a 99GT auto turn a low 14 and you expect me not to call BS on this? In order to run that time he would have had to miss two shifts and even if he'd spun he would've trapped much higher.

![]() Hey LK, I just lined up against a '00 GT AOD with K&N, cold air, pulleys and nothing else last Friday. 80 F, reasonably dry at HRP. That's sea level. He ran 14.2XX to my 14.1 (not so great for me). I put about 2 lengths on him. Nice guy, we talked after, that's how I know what he had. He did have his headlights in though. LOL.

![]() Yes missing 3rd is common with a stock shifter, well out of about 200 runs, i've done it 3 times...too many, anyways i raced an 01 cobra vert, he ran 14.3 @98mph, it was very, very humid, i beat him barely, and he had the complete kenny brown suspension and subs, i really expected more form a 4v cobra, put me in that cobra, and watch me powershift a 13.8 1/4

![]() OK guys let me clarify this whole mis-understanding. You see the cobra that "5.O" is talking about is mine.
What happened is that my grandmother (82yrs old) asked me to lend it to her so she could go racing against 5.0. So give my grandmother a brake after all she gave this "boy" a good fight. ........................................... 99GT |

![]() Ok guys I did not post this to say ew I beat a cobra I posted it to say like WTF call BS all you want I have it on tape. Like I said I was shocked and so was everyone at the track we all thought it was pretty funny. SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO DOWNLOAD AN 8MM TAPE ON THE COMPUTER AND ILL POST IT.
If I was gonna lie about somehing I would think of something a whole lot better than this. I dont even know how you can accuse me of BS when I am one of the ones that is for sure honest about how fast my car is. If I was gonna lie I would lie about how fast my cars et is not someone elses. ------------------ 88 mustang gt convertible bored to 306 BBk equal length headers mac cold air fender kit cowl hood nitto drag radials ford racing clutch flow masters h-pipe 160* thermostat 16 degrees of timing electric fan off 94' t-bird jacobs electronics cap and wires |

![]() Okay, you called BS on Me in the bullet post about seeing a 99 auto run a 14.2@98, WTF gave you the right to call BS on me? I call it back and you get all pissy? Maybe your right, that west Texas air not only affects ET, it also makes the people irritable and stupid.

![]() Oh boy. Another Flame post..Seems like everyone is in a bad mood lately..I'm feeling some very negative Vibes here.
![]() I dont doubt the validity of 5.0 HO's post, Ive seen some bad drivers in my racing life. Guys that made 98 Cobras and LS-1 Camaros look so bad, they probably could of been passed by a stickered up V-tech. Well one person comes to mind, the guy from work. |

_____________________________________________ Oh man what a stupid thing to say. I am stupid for defending my self in a mature matter. Forget racing all together that was a dumb close minded thing to say. You come on here to flame me just cause I cant believe that a stock auto GT ran a 14.2. Maybe it did I dont know. I cant find anyone that knows how to download 8mm tape onto a pc or I would post it! "I thought I would get respones like". 1.Maybe it was a cobra clone. 2.or maybe the air combined wih bad driving. You are the one getting pissy calling me stupid. ![]() Know what your talking about before you open your mouth cause a mid 14 turns into a 15 flat over here. I know people that run 5 to 8 tenths better in Dallas. I guess it would also be BS if i told you that a new body style vette also ran 15.0 @ 94mph. I can understand calling BS on super fast times, but calling BS when all I wanted to know is what made this cobra so slow makes no sense to me. ![]() All I wanted was some of yalls input as to why this car was so slow and I get flamed all to hell. ![]() I dont care if you believe it or not I just hope you grow up and stop generalizing West texans as being stupid just cause you think that I am stupid. I would never generalize about Canadians cause we have a sister company over there and all the people that work over there are pretty cool. I would love to race in the cool Canadian air over here it is still 90* at midnight sometimes ![]() ------------------ 88 mustang gt convertible bored to 306 BBk equal length headers mac cold air fender kit cowl hood nitto drag radials ford racing clutch flow masters h-pipe 160* thermostat 16 degrees of timing electric fan off 94' t-bird jacobs electronics cap and wires [This message has been edited by 5.0 HO (edited 05-23-2001).] |

![]() Alright. If I've said it once I've said it 100 times.
Keep the personal attacks and flames to yourself. If you feel the need keep it confined to email. It serves absolutely no purpose except to clutter up this board and annoy the crap out of those of us who like to read stories about street racing. This "I'm gonna call BS on you because you called it on me" is absurd to say in the least. If you can't offer a bit of constructive criticism than bite your lip and move on.
