Unhappy My Norwalk Nitrous results - time to rebuild the rear end!

Unfortunately my differential gave up on me this weekend for the True Street event at Norwalk. With a one tire fire I managed a 13.006 at 115 mph spraying my ZEX kit in 3rd and 4th gear. When we got back to the pits, the rear passenger side of my car was covered with rubber and the drivers side was squeaky clean. Of course my 60' really suffered as well with one tire turning to the tune of a neck snapping 2.216. I really wanted to see what the car had in her but now it is time to upgrade! I'm going to start with the rear of the car and work my way forward. I'm going with 31 spline axles, new differential, putting on my SSM traction bars and will get new upper control arms as well. Then the Tremec, clutch and bellhousing. Any suggestions on which axles and differential to go with? I'm thinking of the Moser or Superior axles and an Auburn differential. What do you guys like?

Stock T-5, 3.73 gears, Center Line Convo-Pros with skinnies up front. My baby is now bottle fed!!! Best time on the motor was 12.92 at 109.57.

UPDATE - Getting Ready to install: Tremec 3550, Blowproof Bellhousing, Strange Shocks/Struts, Moroso Springs, Upper/Lower control Arms, 31 spline axles and new differential. After this..... 347 heart transplant and Rollcage.

that sucks man!! My personal recommendation would be to use Moser axles..their STRONG. I use them in my car and they have taken a HUGE amount of torture.lol The Auburn Differential is a good choice too

I was up there at norwalk. Think i remember your car. Anyway my suggestion is the eaton kit though Drive Train Direct. It is the diff, 31 spline superior axels, and berrings for 559$ to your door. Me and my friend both bought this combo. I dont have slicks yet but my friend was getting high 1.6 60ft with high 11 sec passes. I would think it would be a great combo for your car.

Cool

Mike, sorry to here of trouble. I am wondering about the SSM lift bars. I 1.59-1.62 without them. With them it was 1.72- 1.85s. They hit real hard at first, then lift the car and unload the tires. I took them off and sold them to a guy with an automatic.

88workcar - I had heard something about the SSM bars doing that same thing. Something about the tires feeling like they grab real hard, then lift off due to the SSM setup. Interesting.

Mike - the kit through Drive Train Direct sounds good. May be worth looking into.

I would highly recommend while you have the rear apart go ahead and put the 9" housing ends on and you will be worry free from the leaking oil (as in c-clip eliminators) and yet they are nice looking. I love my SSM bars also!! No problem here with them..
