Car in need of a Class
 

Ok, up till know I have been building a car strictly for fun on the street and casual contact with the track, but I know plan on working this winter to build it to be semi-competitive in some class (hopefully not bracket) mostly FFW events. Rember I am on a college budget. I will try to give all mods for acurate classification:

1. K&N cone filter
2. Vortech (C&L) 73mm Mass air Meter
3. 65mm TB
4. Cobra intake (right out of the box)
5. FMS 24lb injectors
6. Crane Fuel Pressure Regulator
7. GT 40 Cast Iron Heads (no porting)
8. 1.7 stamped rockers
9. E303 Cam
10.Underdrive pullies
11.Headman shortie Headers
12.Off road H-Pipe 2.5"
13.Flowmaster Cat back 2.5"
14.Hurst Shifter
15. 180^ thermostat
16. 3.55 Gears

Ok, I am quite sure that is all of them it has run 13.55's@104 on semi-bald 225/55/16 SZ50's. I plan on adding mac uppers and Lowers and BFG Drag radials 255/50/16's no mater what. I am also looking at a compu car nitrous system (I don't know if that will help me find a class). Also what Safety equipment will I need. THANKS

You're best bet would be in the FFW Trophy Stock, NMRA Pure Street or the NMCA EFI 13 classes. For either FFW or NMRA, you're going to have to lose the the rocker/cam combination since both are limited to .500" lift. You could go with 1.60 rockers and be legal. But the 1.70's with most of todays off-the-shelf cams will put you over the .500" max lift. EFI 13 is a 'run what you brung' class so you can fit there even if you add the n2o. But with n2o you'd probably have to move to the EFI 12 class. Be sure that if you plan on running the FFW events that your drag radials meet the 9.5" maximum width; NMRA allows up to 10.5 (I think).

I was planning on going to 1.6 roller rockers so that will work great. I am looking at 255/50/16's so I should fit the diminsional limits, what saftey equipment do I need for the 13's and 12's thanks!

At the very minimum, you'll need a Snell 95 certified helmet and a driveshaft safety loop. If you're running pure slicks, then you'll also need to make sure you have long enough wheel studs on the rear.
