Attn Anyone in Dallas TX
Couple questions for you Texans. I will be moving to Dallas in a few weeks and was wondering how strict the safety and emissions test will be and what do they look for and do they really take your thumbprint in order to get a drivers license? Thanks for any info.

Vehicle Inspection - if your car can drive to the shop, it's gonna pass. It's really lax here, I've even seen guys just hand over the sticker without even looking at the car.
License - gonna have to get that thumbprint. It's really not that bad though. You just place your thumb on a scanner of some sort and they'll record it digitaly, no ink!! |

Actually, if you're coming to the Dallas area, the emissions stuff is VERY strict.
It may be easier in other parts of Texas, but if you're within 50 miles of the city, prepare to have your car poked, prodded, and tested. Better have some cats on that H-pipe too... Just a friendly warning... ------------------ Adam "Hammer" Packett: Moderator, Gulf War Veteran GO GET 'EM BOYS! |
