Re: What is your favorite type of racing?
Drag racing. Going around in circles, (or just cornering for that matter), bores me, (unless I"m on a bike). :>)
Only turning I want to do, is the 'return road'. |

Re: What is your favorite type of racing?
So how do you guys feel about drifting? The Domestic favorite to drift with is the fox 5.0. The "younger" crowed like the Nissean 240SX, because it is rear wheel drive with IRS and very light with about 180hp with a proper tune. Both cars are in the same price range, but I do prefer my fox body. I have rode with a couple of people while drifting and it is very, very intense. The sponsored pro guys do it at speeds of 80 plus mph. It is wicked intense.

Re: What is your favorite type of racing?
Honestly, I recognize that drifting does take skill, but at the same time, its less like a "pure" sport, and more like one mixed with showboating. If the goal was only to cover the course in the shortest possible time, it would be pure racing (i.e.SCAA), but when style comes into it, it throws the whole thing.
But, I also dont follow organized sports, so either way, it doesent bother me. I've slid around corners before, and yes, it was fun, but I wouldn't bother watching someone else doing it. Hence why I don't watch football etc. I also don't watch drag racing. The only reason I watch Rally is because the drivers are doing crap that I couldn't even imagine doing myself (90mph on a dirt road, w/ a mountain on one side and a cliff on the other? Um, no thanks, I know I'm not that good, LOL)

Re: What is your favorite type of racing?
Yea Ditto on Ralley racing, those guys are nuts, it really takes great skill for that kind of racing. As far as watching racing on tv, the best in my opinion is Ralley. But my favorite to to do is drag racing. I have drifted a little in a 91 240sx I had, and I must say, it is really, really fun. My Fox Body is a bone stock virgin, but I have had several cars in the past, my most recent favorite was a 02 WS6, slightly modified, but on a highway run, only vettes and the Terminators Cobra could touch me. That damn thing would hit 160, no problem and keep pulling. Had to sell it, got caught racing on base, stupid move on my part, damn near went to captains mast. I was told to sell the car and It would be forgotten. Now you know were the mony for my Fox Body came from, just not sure were to start.

Re: What is your favorite type of racing?
I love the saturday night dirt track racing. There was a track every 30 miles in Kansas. I love to go watch those guys and see the dirt flying especialy close enough to get hit with it. Drag racing is cool when you get to see the stocks and super stocks I find it hard to believe how fast those cars are with as little mods they are aloud.
