Default Just got my new gears installed!

Oh man! Such a difference! I went from stock 2.73s to Cobra 3.55s...ouch! Feels so much better! Of course my calibration is off, so it says I am doing 110 at about 85...but oh well. Anyone know of a place in Ventura County that I can get it calibrated at? I bought a speedo gear for it, but I think they sent me the wrong one. Oh well! He he he! Anyone who doubts what a difference gears makes needs to be smacked, I am loving this! I got pulled over about 4 hours after I got them installed! No ticket though!

Can't wait to get new 60' times!

No reason to take it to a shop. The speedo gear swap is a 5 minute job at best. Just pull the cable from the trans housing, pry off the c-clip, slide the old gear off then new one on and reinstall the cable. Walla! Job done.

I know how to change the speedo gear, I just think that the company that I bought the new gear from sent the incorrect one. I would rather just take it in, spend the $20 to get it calibrated rather than keep buying new speedo gears.

How many teeth were on the speedo gear that they sent you? Maybe it was the wrong one. You also have to take into consideration the heigth of your tires. That will also make your speedo incorrect.
