Launching technicque
I have 4.10 gears and a tremick tko II, a 347 and a 100 wet shot. I have MT et streets, (26.11.5-15). To hook in 1st gear and launch on the bottle seems impossible. I was thinking of trying a 2nd gear launch. Has anyone got any suggestions?

do a quick burnout to warm up the tires...
launch OFF the bottle, ... going into mid 2nd gear you can spray it... but if you still cant hook in 2nd, then, spray in 3rd instead.

Launching in second is a sure fire way to toast your clutch, not to mention kill your 60' times. Your final drive ratio will only be around 8.20 (1.99 x 4.10) instead of closer to 13.0 (3.35 x 4.10). It sounds like you need to work on your launch rpm and possibly suspension in general. Try bringing the launch rpm down to the point where the motor bogs, then work back up until you find the rpm where you get just about 1 spin on the tire without the engine bogging. I've got a friend with stock suspension (no four link or ladder bar setup) with a 383 stroker, 300 shot and ET streets that pulls low 1.3 60' times off the bottle, so it can be done.

How about using a NOS Progressive Controller? They are not only time based but also level based. You could set it to apply 10% on lauch, and reach 100% flow at 7 seconds. I realize this would be a lot simpler with an automatic, unless you powershift thru all the gears, never lifting on the shifts to keep the WOT switch closed.
